Bangladesh warns its citizens in Turkey not to go to public places

The Bangladesh missions in Turkey also opened a helpline to assist its citizens.

The advisory followed an attempted military coup on Friday night, which eventually failed.

"In view of the unfolding developments in Turkey, particularly since July 15, 2016, all Bangladesh nationals in Turkey have been advised to restrict their movements and avoid public places. All Bangladesh nationals in Turkey are reportedly safe," the ministry said in a statement.
