How to lodge a general diary (GD) to Bangladesh Police

Write the general diary in the application format

A format of writing general diary and other relevant information available at:
Print two copies of the application
If printing is not available, you may photocopy the original one or write two copies of the same application in your own handwriting
Put your original signature to the both copies of the GD application
Go to the Police station. You need to lodge the GD at the jurisdiction of the police station where the actual incident happened. In case of lost document, you may lodge the GD at the police station of your present residential address.
In the police station, go to the duty officer and tell him that you want to lodge a general diary(GD) and hand over the two copies of the same application to him/her.
If the application seems ok to the duty office, he will write a GD no in both copies of the application form, put his signature with seal in both copies of the application.
If you don’t write yourself the application, relevant members of police in the police station may help you to write the application.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police has introduced online general diary filing and some other information inputting facility through their website’s Citizens Help request (CHR):
